Colombara, born 1959, is responsible for the software and product development processes. He joined Open-Xchange in 2005 and established the Documentation and Quality Assurance departments.

Colombara has a long history in software development, consulting and training for software engineers. With more than 25 years of IT experience, and 15 years of international IT management experiences, Colombara has had various management positions with micado, Germany. In 1995 he provided training and project audits for international customers for the Object People, Canada. Later he co-founded and sucessfully established the German subsidiary for The Object People. After an acquisition he became BEA System's training actvities as the EMEA Education Director.
