Todays product release is part of the strategic partnership beween Open-Xchange Inc., the leading provider of open source collaboration software, and Hostpoint AG, the leading hosting provider in Switzerland. Earlier this year, Hostpoint replaced the webmailer for its 250,000 e-mail accounts with a new webmail module from Open-Xchange, which uses an innovative AJAX web interface to deliver new features and improved usability.

Now, Hostpoint offers additional Open-Xchange groupware capabilities to enhance efficiency and teamwork in small- and medium-sized businesses with its business-class email, advanced personal information management (PIM) including calendaring, contact and task management. The centralized document management system allows users to attach documents to corresponding tasks, as well as share them without emailing large files. Open-Xchange's AJAX-based web interface is available anywhere with Internet access at any time. This gives companies with multiple locations and employees working out of office, the flexibility to effectively share information.

Using Hostpoint Xchange, end customers will benefit from a full-service solution including storage, maintenance, backup, anti-virus and anti-spam. Pricing is between 7 and 9 CHF per month per account.
