OX App Suite History

The precursor to OX App Suite was released in the mid 2000’s when Open-Xchange wanted to create a “real” email Software as a Service solution for providers to host themselves.
In 2012 Open-Xchange named this service OX App Suite when they released it with a brand-new and cutting-edge UI.
In 2015 Open-Xchange merged with Dovecot and started to use the Dovecot IMAP server as standard with OX App Suite.
In 2019 Open-Xchange opened its own data centre and started to offer OX App Suite as a Cloud service – Now called OX App Suite Cloud.
Since then, the OX App Suite products have grown in function, maturity, stability, and reach. This makes them the most mature email solutions on the market today.
